FS7: 20$ remote for pan tilt head, now adapt the camera

Today I received a remote controlled relay board from China. After some rewiring I connected it with my cheap Bescor motorized pan tilt head and it almost instantly worked.

Only thing that doesn't work is speed control. But that is OK with me.

button 1 is move left, button two move right, button three is up, button 4 is down. And 8 more spare switches.
You need male 7 pins dinplug
12 volt for power relay board

Now I will see if I can do the same with the grip on the FS7. Only thing I need to do is to replace buttons by the relays. (or the switches of the infrared remote).

The head does work with the FS7 and 18-105 lens. (weight).

I have that Bescor P/T head. Looks like your mod doesn't give you variable speed control, at least not via the remote.

My Kessler Second Shooter based solution is far more complex and expensive, but does give me more control.

All comes down to desired application.

Yeah, this panhead is also not very stable/sturdy, but I need it only a few times to shoot wild birds.

The variable speed is done with a manual resistor. (So theoretically could be replaced with a servo or a electronic one).

It would be so nice if the remote control app of the fs7 could send some images to the phone or tablet like other cheaper cameras can.

The next step is to replace the switches from the handgrip by relays.

As I understand it, his transmitter can only send a single signal at a time, and the potentiometer controlling speed is not wired to the remote.

I have a completely different pan/tilt/zoom/LANc solution that works with the Kessler Second Shooter system and is controlled via an Xbox 360 wireless controller. But while his solution is under $200 (including buying the P/T head) mine is definitely over $1,000.

I will upload some footage from mounted lumix g6.

The panning and tilting might be not smooth but I will use it as an 'aiming device' for the camera.
