2 quick questions

I've been off the board for awhile, so if this question has been answered, please excuse it.

1. I have a DVX100 and a DVX100a, both with anamorphic adapters. Would it be possible for me to mix HD with SD in FCP5? The reason for this question is that I shoot high end weddings and presently use my DVX cameras in both the 4:3 or 16:9. My plan is to purchase the new 200 when it comes out and use it in both the 16:9 & 4:3 modes in SD and wanted to know if I could also shoot in HD with the 200 and mix it with my two ofther DVX cameras in the 16:9 modes?.

2. I heard a rumor that I wouldn't be able to us my mac (17" powerbook w/FCP5) to download from the 200. That only a PC would work. Is that true???

Thanks in advance,

eric

The answer to number to is false. You should have no problem using your Powerbook with the HVX200. At least from what I've read.

Hi.

I'm curious where you read that I can in fact use the mac. I have it from a very good source that the card won't work in the mac. I'd be interested in reading where that is false.

From what I've heard you cannot use the in-powerbook pcmcia slot directly with the cards - it is not yet supported. But you *can* plug the camera in, use a usb/firewire card reader, etc to download from the hvx200. It's simply the internal slot for p2 that isn't supported on the powerbooks at this time.
