1) How do you get from the SD card custom preset looks for the HVX back to the default settings?

2) When I try to use the LCD flipout screen reversed and shut facing outward so an AC can pull focus while the op looks through the viewfinder, the viewfinder shuts off instead of staying on . Is there a simple setting I'm missing or is this a possible defect in my camera?

(The manual didn't seem to cover either subject)

1) Manual, pg 55, select INIT, etc.

2) not sure, but I think it is either/or. best bet is to use an external monitor.

2) Manual, page 23. In the Display Setup screen, set the EVF Mode to ON.

Make sure you save the scene files after using the INITIAL option, otherwise you'll lose the settings again when you turn the camera off.

You can go into the DISPLAY SETUP menu and configure the EVF to stay on -- by default it will turn off when the LCD is flipped open.
