Hey again aall.. Just threw a couple new vids of ours on the old myspace, thought I would share them here. We have been hella busy lately.. Just shot and cut these two video, shot and are currently editing a music video of nearly epic proportions (stay tuned for Zion) and we are in the midst of doing all the post for the new 2 hour special People in Espanol 50 most beautiful for Telemundo.. so while a few things render I thought I would toss these up. Did editing on these as well as worked crew, all shot in house DP'ed and Directed by studio Owner Leonardo Gonzalez. Color Grade with Final Touch. Enjoy

I love the music in the second one. I want to shoot some Latin-Jazz music video in New Yoriko but I haven't found any directors who do them.

The main setup in the first music video looks really great. It nice when production design gets together with the DP. Looks like you dimmed most of the practicals way down.

For the second video the shower scene and the dinner/bedroom stuff looks really nice. Some of the exterior setups the lighting is a little harsh. The setups near the pool could have used a 20x20 silk to diffuse the sun and a 10x10 solid to take the fill off one side of his face. The left side of his face is lost with the background.

What lenses are you using with the P+S? Zeiss superspeeds?

Looks great guys. Miami has to be getting hot!

Cheers,

Matt

Nice footage but i must say the editing needs some work. WHats wrong with straight cuts? Those black dissolves is to mutch, a few of them is ok, but all the time.puh! And i really think the editing is to fast in the first video. Relax, you dont have to change between sets all the time. Shes a beatiful girl to look at so slow down. i want to see her face and expression not the differnt sets.
But please , no more black dissolves! Nice footage but editing is a no no. Just my 2 cents. THanks for sharing your work:)

Thanks Cine, Matt and Mika As to your responses...

Yeah we have a 20 x 20 silk, as well as 10 x 10 solids.. but time, budget and general Florida weather would not allow. The video was shot at the record execs house, his idea not ours. We use it all the time, but the reality is the sun moves so fast and is so high it is very difficult to keep up with. We were shooting essentially a day and a half worth of stuff in one day so, time was not on our side. Truth be told the compression is greatly to blame as well, It is alot hotter on the web then the final output. And yes, Zeiss superspeeds. In fact we shot another video for Alejandra in NY last year.. check out the other videos on that same account it is called "Malle Suerte"

As for Mika.. It's your opinion and I respect that, but disagree. One, first rule of music videos.. you should never see somehting for more then 3 seconds.. and usually more like 1. Now of course rules were meant to be broken but the dips to black go with the flow of the music.. Hard cuts make no sense with sweeping songs, no hard beat to cut to and honestly when I could I did (IE: Footage of guy and girl by fountain with jumpcuts and a dissolve) Even cutting it after a while you feel like "Enough already" but then once you try something else.. it just does not carry the vibe. Now with more post time another solution could have been achieved. But more post time equals more money.. they weren't paying, we aren't playing. Might sound like a dick thing to say but work in this industry quickly you see how much money is wasted on polotics, and wheel greasing then you are expected to work for free (Not saying that about these two inparticulara, just in general) Thanks again all..

I am actually writing this while uploading a rough cut of the afore mentioned Zion video for artist/label approval before color grade and it came out even better then I thought. Very excited about this one. Hope to share it soon.
