2 new HMC-40s; unique mounting solution

We just got our order in for 2 new HMC40s and I immediately went to work to get them stacked on top of each other using only 1 tripod and without having to build something and without having to use a cage. We use this rig for a two-camera green screen shoot we do multiple times a month so its a setup that probably won't be moved very often. Anyways, just wanted to share our new setup. It has replaced the two Canon's that are in the Marketplace somewhere for sale if anyone is still interested...

PICS!!!

If you don't mind me asking, why bother with two XLR adapters if you're only plugging one mic into each one?

Good question and we will sometimes have 3 mics plugged in depending on the presentation: 2 lavs and 1 shotgun. Also, if we do shoot something off the greenscreen, we want to have the same abilities on both cameras.

I can't help but wonder, why 2 cameras doing the same shot?

Is one camera a wide angle shot and the other a close -up?

Cool looking set-up...

Exactly Bob! I hope to get some test footage shot later today and possibly uploaded tomorrow. This one-tripod setup is replacing a 2-tripod setup we were using that was really very difficult to work with. This new setup has already been easier to use, especially with the setup.

Had to shoot a talk with just one camera and then do a lot of cuts to edit out the translator.

Used the 1080 footage in a 720 timeline alternating between 100% and 66% scale.

The result:
