2 min promo

Asked to do a promo for a Youth Worker's seminar last week (give it a look before you dismiss as poo-poo :-). Wrote the script Tuesday @6am after work, shot Tuesday night 9:30 - 12am, rough edit done by Wed approx 10am. Client saw on Thursday afternoon, made a few minor changes, final edit done an hour later. Felt like I was in a 48-hour film festival except I had a wife & 2 kids, work, a 5 hour drive and car repair thrown in to boot.

Anyway, for lighting, I bought a 6-cell maglite and a super bright rechargeable spotlight from hardware store Tues night. Spot light lasted through opening scene, after that everything was mag and existing lighting. Helped that it was raining (Fubu jacket over the camera throughout), reflected light was vvvveeeerrrryyyy nice.

Train scene we actually were being watched by some cops and got nervous, so I had to improvise in editing since I didn't get all the shots I wanted. Alley scene lighting was horrible, but we did the best we could. It was only the two of us, as our 3rd wheel flaked on us.

Comments welcome. Also, if someone can give an opinion on the file size/quality ratio?? I'm not sure I'm happy with it. I'm messing around to see if I can get something better, but so far, seems big (file size) to me.

Had a lot of fun with this.

sorry for the size ~ 15.5MB

Thanks,

After the D/L I got an error saing the the sequence ##.aif is missing.
After fighting a bit with a system ready to collapse I managed to see the file except the first half and no audio.
It's very good!!!
Very sharp images, nice light throughout all the footage, nice montage, nice flashes and overall rhythm!
Great job with DVX in dark light conds!

very cool edits!
too bad audio didn't work for me...
I had the same problem with the file opening, maybe you should re-render it?
My only complaint was it seemed like a bit too many flashes. but it could just be me, i just woke up and my eyes weren't ready for it.

Nice work as usual.

Nice work as usual.

Jared, nice work. I had the same troubles. No sound, missing aiff file and it would not open correctly, finaly got it to play. Nice green screen. You put it together very quickly.
