Hi guys:)

Haven't posted any footage in a while, mainly cause I'm shooting a short and all my time goes into that.
But we had a friend visiting so I told my roomie and him to put on their sneakers and get on out! I had to shoot some while the sun was still there:)

So here it is: (click on download now) Should be watched in VLC player.

thank you:)

This was shot only with my Canon FD 35mm f2.0, @ f2.8 for the most parts.. and I know why you like f2.8 now:P It's my favourite as well, I mean the difference between f2.0 and 2.8 is huge!

Funny story.. I was in italy and went inside a photography shop there and I saw the lens.. I didn't have the dvx100 or the sgpro when I bought it, and I didn't know squat about lenses.. and I think I overpaid, it cost 200$ (1100 NOK).

Anyways.. When I got home from italy I did some research on the lens, but didn't find that much. And I saw videos with the sgpro and other canon fd lenses and was actually not impressed at all..

But then you were the one that actually told me that f2.0 on a 35mm was pretty decent.. hehe:) so I guess I was really lucky:grin:

and when I got my camera and sgpro and I found out that "the guy behind the camera" matters a lot.. that's not meant to be bragging, I've done shitloads of mistakes but I've learned and I'm still learning..

I'm looking for a nice 35mm f.2.0 myself, hoping to find one with good quality as yours is :)

your slow-mo is incredible. which technique did you use?

in my attempts to shoot 60i with a fast shutter and then use JES deinterlacer i've never achieved such fabulous results.

Thank you:) appreciate it!

Well it's very easy actually.. I shoot in 50i (I live in a PAL based country) with the shutter at 1/120. Then I import it in premiere.. export it as avi with no compression, then import it in After Effects, then I use "time stretch" and stretch it 200%. (the settings are different for NTSC users) and then I export it as avi with no compression again.. and I import in in adobe premiere, drag it into the timeline, render and then I edit everything:)

good luck:thumbsup:

Enjoyed this, has a very nice mood to it.
You almost nailed the Smettli-look®, must be the beautiful Norwegian light :)

Thank you very much:)
Hehe, damnit, just almost?
:2vrolijk_08:
I'm pretty satisfied with almost actually :P

Yeah it must be our famous light.. I mean.. we do have a different lightsource than you.. We got it up in 2004, big project.. you should keep it on the down low though, I'm actually not allowed to reveal it to anyone outside Norway.

Hehe:P

The light is different around the world though :)
There once was a norwegian photographer who was assigned by a pretty big company to take a picture where a person was to stand up against a wall and the some nice light would be thrown at the wall. The photographer insisted that the only way he could get the perfect light was to fly the whole crew and the equipment from Norway and down to somewhere in California I think were he was to take the picture. However, when they came there he figured out that the natural light didn't work after all, and decided to artificcially light up the scene instead. Talk about wasting money on light decissions ey? :)
