EVA1: 2 days EVA-1 rental for test upcoming. What's your recommendation for a do/don't?

I'm disappointed to hear about the 400mbs codec as that was a redeeming thing for me when they gave this camera a solid internal codec (or so I thought)

Remember our FS7s still need a big hunk on the back in order to get prores or timecode.

the codec seems robust, I was even surprised in a positive way about the 422 150mbs long GOP. It's just the playback
With the FS7 I never had the need for ProRes because XAVC-I is great and plays well.

You won't be disappointed, I wasn't. BTW, I luckily had a Gratical from a previous camera so I only use the LCD for menus, or occasionally when my partner wants to see the shot. The LCD is nice in that you can mount it out of the way, on the starboard side of the camera, and that it's very light, doesn't seem to draw much power, and powered is by the camera. But my hood fell apart after three gentle uses, so I got a Hoodman, which works well but doesn't fold in...

As mentioned above, you can assign FPS to the User wheel that has ISO and WB as well. In my case I only shoot VLog and use the LUT in FCPX, which is a good starting point. Since I'm an old school documentary filmmaker (over 40 years) the AF issue doesn't bother me, especially because the focus assist squares are excellent aids (which can be output through SDI, but not HDMI, thus a Gratical not a Z-Finder) and they make up for not being the ground glass screen that I miss.

There's a lot of useful information in this thread that hasn't been mentioned anywhere else that I know of, so thanks for starting it...

Only yours is a EVF and bracket kit (I didn’t scroll down far enough to see the how to video), at a higher price. I was also trying to make it clear, soldering was not required for the mod kit itself.
I was showing just the EVF mod kit. Both are brilliant.
Cheers
