1st video using DVX100

Ummm, i have a tag on my toe.
Not bad for a first vid. Get rid of the FX (ripple....) U using Matrox???
Also the studio footage I like...the mall stuff...Ummm...I wanted to see something new, fresh. It has'nt ALL already been done, otherwise I'd stop shooting. You could try something diff...like them at home with their parents...So that it Jux's the style...Know what I mean old bean>?

I would kill the fire overlay in the middle and cool it on on the jerky effect or at least have it follow the beat. But very good first video. That song rocks. I like the idea of them with their parents. Or better yet their grandparents in a nursing home. That would be sweet. I would have liked to see a crib party shot with some pimp cups and some wild colored back lighting. A little dj lights in the background and some GIRLS.... Sex sells anything!

The camera work was ok, although I agree it's been done before. The little boy was a nice touch. I didn't watch the whole thing though due to the graduitous and totally unneccasary profanity. I realize that it's all the rage now but profanity and half naked girls don't equate to talent. As a rule I find most popular rap to be stupid, boring and disgusting. Hip hop with a message rules. Rap with no message,no class, no talent but lots cursing, dick grapping and t's and a's is unfortunately what todays market is all about. I would ask you this, would you want your kid to watch your video? How about your mother?

Why you gotta bring my mother into this? Thanks for the comment , . Everything aint for everybody.

These guys are always harsh, that's why I never post my stuff. But I would let my kid watch it if I had one. It is real life, maybe not for you, but for someone.

I still think that song is great. It would carry the video no matter how bad.

I always think of my audience, who will be watching? What will keep them watching? Do I get board while watching? Does what is happening in the video tell the story I or my client is trying to portray?

Is the client happy with the video? If they are happy.... You did your job well!

Tuck it under your belt and start on the next one...

I agree that you must taylor your material to the intended audience.
Nor do I have a problem with profanity, nudity and sex if it is appropriate for the project and the intended audience. I do have a problem when sex, violence, profanity and nudity take the place of talent, a good script, a skilled production crew and/or good material. I live in the real world too, probably a lot longer than most of you and I can tell you that the average "performer" of todays' hip hop industry wouldn't have made it 20 years ago because you actually had to have talent. Same goes for most of the movies I see now. There are extremely talented people out there with great ideas who cann't get distributed because the film industry only wants to make movies for 12 year olds. That brings me to my next objection. As a grandfather with 6 grandkids, I object to porn being shown to children and that's who's watching these videos. If they were being seen only by adults, that'd be fine by me but they're not. As to "that's some peoples life", I've got children older than anyone on the video. Trust me, been there done that. All the real gangsters are in jail or out making someones life a living hell.

Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for your comments.

Like I Said "everything aint for everybody". And also what makes you think that these guys are gangsters? see any guns, drugs, killing, or any other" gangster" props. This is just me following them as they go about their daily struggle. More people have been killed and corrupted in the name of religion and morality than any amount of so called "gangsters" could ever dream of doing. I

yeh yeh MFr what?????? say what????????????????
MFr what!!!!!
some CC, get rid of those transitions, add more booty
remember lighting is everything (or at least it contributes to get certain feel)
maybe add some grain to give it that old skool look, ala NWA
