Hey guys, long time member first time poster... we just completed our first short, Eve's Hallow. Please check out the trailer... We had 3 weeks for conception to completion as we wanted to get it into this festival (I wish I had more time!, it's always something) anyway, any and all criticisms are obviously welcome as all will help us improve as filmakers...

not too bad.....something to think about is doing some color correcting/whatever it is they do to make movies dark :) not sure what you would call it.....but just in FCP i messed around with the Color Corrector 3-way and came up with some interesting looks with some of the scenes. Really good music and editing but even in trailers theres a story.....i wasnt quite sure what it was about......but still good

Nice picture quality, what is the story? the fade/cuts could have been shorter and quicker. maybe try switching the scenes around, put the bathtub scene up front, then flash back to the guys walking in the house, then the scary stuff, then the guy disappearing, this might add some contrast in the edit, to grab your viewers attention right up front! Bam what the $%&* is going on here? Quality is top notch!

Just out of curiosity. Is it Hollow or Hallow? Your file reads as Hollow, and it seams she says Hollow.

Regardless, looks good. I agree about it needing some colour grading.

Thanx guys... def. good advise, I'm still f'ing with it so I'm sure I'll end up darkening it and cc'ing it... oh and it's suppose to be hallow, as in all hallows' eve I just spelled it wrong initially anyway I have a rough cut of the movie up on my site, it's 14 1/2 mins. if you get time you should check it out (the file size is big but I'm workin on gettin a smaller one up there) thanx again and please, Keep the advise comin'

I think the technical side of the project could use alot of improvement. Most of the shots felt very flat and dull to me, and it seems like you didnt put much effort into lighting...Consider studying up on Cinematography and lighting all togethor if you want to improve your films' appearances.

I couldn't agree more Invision and I am... We foolishly rushed through this (not that it would have been SO much better but lesson learned). By the way I Watched "So Scripted" trailer, looks amazing, I see where knowledge of your craft and your tools can get you... And no yuujinlee it's a 100b but considering Invisions Insight will lend weight to why it looks 2 models older... But thanx guys, I'm glad there is a place like this out there for novices, like myself, to get feedback from people that have a great insight into filmaking. keep 'em comin'.... I can take it..
