We shot this last weekend for a 72 hour film festival. This was the first time using the AF100 and the RR adapter.

Lenses
16-35 2.8 canon L
24-70 2.8 canon L
70-200 2.8 canon L
24 TS 3.5 canon L

Edited with Premier Pro 5.5 and colored with Davinci

I like this camera a lot and am looking forward to shooting more with it.

Doh! Stoopid me. You are probably right.

I was thinking the RR Adapter was the RR 35mm Film Adapter and had forgotten about the new RR M43 adapter for Canon lenses.

Sorry.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes the blur is all from the Tilt Shift lens. All of the footage of the younger girls was done with only that lens. It's not as pronounced as it would have been with a full frame camera but I think it still works and helps give it a little "off" feel.

I must say that even as I ordered the camera I had my doubts on if I would like it but I am really happy that I decided to get it. It was a joy having real camera features and still being able to use my canon lenses.

Now I just have to work out a good workflow that includes davinici. The way we colored this film was SOOOOOO painful, not the coloring itself but the getting it back to premier from davinici. We ended up having to reassemble the edit from the davinci renders in FCP.

I like the look. Just didn't like all the unnecessary jib moves. Couple times its fine...but its like in ALOT of shots. Looks like your just using it to use it and it really brought attention to itself IMO.

The flashback look you created is very nice. I'd like to hear what kind of nodes you used in DaVinci.

Did you try the XML workflow?

I tried the xml work flow but it did NOT work. It showed up but did weird things. I think alot of the problems we had were because of how we ingested.

We wanted to edit the avchd in PP then export a packed prores project that could then be sent to davinici but so far I have not figured out if we can do that or not. We only started using PP a few months ago.

So I ingested with FCP7 to convert the avchd files to prores (had some weird glitches every once in a while with the transcode) then we edited with those files in PP, exported the XML and opened it up in davinici. Some of the files didn't show up and and some were from different parts of the clips. Then we took it through FCP and got the xml into davinici. Then when we rendered and exported files were not showing up in the right spots or not at all. So we ended up rendering out of davinici with 2 sec handles ( for the transitions) and re cutting the edit in FCP.

I think what screwed it all up was using the FCP log and transfer and not staying in FCP.

I will need to figure out a better way to work with PP. I think I have seen that people are using Clipwrap (?) to transcode to prores. We are also thinking about getting a ki pro mini which should solve some of the transcode problems.
