1st Music Video on the HVX

Hi all,

Just recently upgraded from the Canon XHA1 to the panny HVX200 and my first project with it is the following Music Video;

My workflow is so effortless now compared to the A1, i doubt i'l ever go back to tape...

I like the look. What effect did you use to have the light beams going across the footage? Did you use any adapters, matte boxes or any other gear?
 
Looks cool, simple and trim but neat and (IMHO) far more effective than the crap in video with half naked girls and cluttered lighting/sound/blocking setups. The lighting looked excellent, what did you use for it?

The lens flares were done in post, correct?
 
Thanks, yes all the effects were done in post. Funnily enough i actually had a tiffen 4x4 streak filter but on the day it wasn't producing my intended flare so i scrapped the idea. Then as i was wrapping up the edit i stumbled across a video copilot light streak tutorial and the rest is history.

As far as the lighting, it was a typical 3 point setup with a 2k blonde as the key and the background was flooded with a couple of more blondes to make it pure white. There was a BTS photographer on the day so if the photos emerge online i'l post them here.

I thnk it looks very well done. My only thing is a personal opinion thing. I would have liked to see more throughout than the same white background with people. Although that was done very well it got a little old for me. I was waiting for some more interesting shots. Again, great job though.
