Just learning the DVX...so, this is only an experimental project for my own joy and education. For the most part, everything was set to auto.

Yes, there is some disruptive magic bullet stuff in there too. It was my first time experimenting with those filters as well. anyways, just wanted to put my first footage up. (it's a 3 minute clip, 22MB wmv)

Dood..that is so cool. I've never seen squirrels that let you touch and feed them. If you get close to a squirrel normally they dart away like a bat out of hell and up a tree. That was really neat to see. ~resevoir~

Ha ha

Thanks for sharing; loved the music (rockabilly is great) it was fitting; now onto my safety advice. It's cute that these squirrels come right up and eat out of your hands but did you know they can act as hosts to bubonic plague?

Just a thought fopr thje fami;y's next outing.

This takes me back to my early teens when a baby squirrel approached my younger brother and sister and we had a pet squirrel for the whole summer. He loved being around people and believe it or not, never would leave the perimeter of our 1/4 acre yard. In the fall, we brought him to a nearby park and he quickly joined his peers.

While a little long you used a lot of techniques to make things interesting.

How did you do the wave title at the beginning. That was perfect.

I've been around alot squirels and one thing I do know is to never touch those little dudes! God knows what kind of rabies, STD's, HIV, XL2 they carry. But hey, that was a fun video to watch. I dug the music too dude. :)

Yo my hamster would kick thoes squirrels asses........

PS the hamsters name is Udder.

We've had the same family of squirrels living in our backyard for eons. Eat out our hands? They come knocking on the window when they're hungry. "Yo! Gimme some peanuts!"

This has been a familiy comedy interlude thread, brought to you by DVXUser.com

And BTW If you get bubonic plague, you still can make a kickass documentary. Just be sure not to tell anyone how you got it.

MAGICDAVEK,

The wave effect on the opening title was just the "twirl" effect in Premiere.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. We fed them about a month ago, and I haven't started foaming at the mouth yet (except when i brush my teeth), so I think I'm in the clear this time, but in the future, I think I'll bring gloves just in case.

I just had my 13 and 11 year old sons and my 9 year old daughter watch this. They loved it! They laughed a lot at the squirrels. While I posted above that I thought it ran a bit long, they were intrigued by it until the end.

My 16 year old son really liked it too. He's a big time animal lover (he's got a rabbit and had a hampster). My 14 year old was amused as well (yes, counting this post and my last makes five kids!).

They were excited to show it to my wife but she could care less (she hates animals). As I said, we had a pet squirrel when I was a kid, so I really got a kick out of this.

Ok first off that was awesome, frikin awesome, second! Are you outa yo frikin mind? lol From what I understand they are one of the largest carriers of rabies. Which I am extra carful with now... Couple months ago I tried to help an unidentified dog that got hit by a car, long story short, the dog bit me... had to go to the hospital for 6 hours, get a shot in the ass, report it to animal control, thye had to run special tests on the dog, which did die. And I was left for 3 days worrying I had rabies. Just not worth it! Ya try to help and that's what ya get? Anyways fun stuff.. looked like a blast!

Those tree rats look just like the majority or our current society - OVERWEIGHT....

Maybe they have been on that McDonalds SuperSize me diet.........:)

Avatuar - thanks for the warning. I'm definitely wearing gloves next time!
Hans - that is sweet...thanks for the link.
