16GB P2 cards?

That story is old. 12GB Cards are already going for 5 grand. That means until december things can change considerably...

P2-card will have a bigger memory and lower prize in a few year. In the future I think there will be no tape and HD to the camera, only memorycard.

Those Lexar Pro cards look interesting but require FAT32. Is that a compatible card for an HVX200? The Lexar 4GB cards alone (80x) are dirt cheap compaired to the OEM cards.

I wonder what speed or performance penalties would be incurred by simply putting that Pretec 4gig SD card into the Pretec PCMCIA adaptor and sticking it into your HVX P2 slot? It's possible the adaptor would be some sort of speed bottleneck, but it could be worth some experimentation...

Of course, if I remember correctly, the 4gig P2 card is supposed to be price reduced to $1000.00 US when the 8gig version at $2,000.00 US is introduced...

You can disect a P2 card. Inside are 4 real SD-cards held down by a metal clip.
So you can pop out the 4 2Gb cards( = 8Gb) and pop in 4 4Gb's.
Mechanicaly it is possible, but the memory controller might not be able to address them. It's just a matter of time before someone with 4x4Gb SD cards to spare does a test.
