Hi guys,i m in front of a problem that i cannot fix. I have a 16 g p2, that i already format and shoot 2 clips on it. Then i plug my firewire to import ( i have fcp 6, and a hvx 200) but the card doesn t mount to the desktop, so impossible to import in fcp i suppose. I check disk utility ( i m on mac pro), i also installed the lastest drivers on the mac. Nothing appears. I there something to set on the camera or on the mac that i don t know. Thank to help me BART.

Is the PC MODE in the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu set to 1394 DEVICE, are you in MCR mode, and after putting the camera into MCR mode, did you press and hold the MODE button for another two seconds to initiate a connection? If that doesn't work, where did you get the latest drivers -- are they from a CD or did you download them RECENTLY from Panasonic?

Since you say you have dowloaded your drivers. Do you have your camera in device mode? It should be if you are connecting your cam to computer by firewire.

If you are in device mode and you have your camera connected by firewire you:

Turn camera on with P2 card that has footage on it

press MCR button once until screen changes to clip viewing

press MCR button again and hold for a couple of seconds

After a couple of more seconds it should mount on your desktop

**** sorry Thoff got it. I was typing and in that time he posted
.

Sounds like a driver problem to me... Try re-installing the correct drivers.. do a search on the board for the newest p2 drivers.. ones that support the 16 gig card.. Same thing happened to me on my macbook pro... the drivers are a little finnicky.. they have to be installed in a certain order to take.. But i assure you that 16 gig cards do indeed mount on all the new macs.. including the MAC PRO..
