16:9 workflow?

I guess this goes in this forum. I did some searching on here and have Barry's book but couldnt find my answer. I shot my footage in Squeeze mode thus 16:9 I bring it into avid seems all fine and dandy after I switch my monitors to 16:9. I export dv 720 x 480 quicktime ref and bring that in encore. Encore doesn't seem to reconize it is 16:9 footage what am I doing wrong? I want my dvd to play in 16:9 format on widescreen 16:9 tvs and I guess letterboxed on 4:3 tvs.

What workflow do you guys use? What am I doing wrong?
 
If you're using avid, make sure the aspect ratio is set to "native dimensions" when you export your timeline. That is assuming that you captured with the proper native dimensions.
