16:9 aspect ratio for Master Templates?

I recently purchased a subscription to www.Lynda.com to learn more about Final Cut Pro.
One lesson showed how to add a Motion Master Template to your FCP project within FCP.

I can add the template no problem, but it always comes up in the 4:3 ratio and never the 16:9.

In the video lesson I watch, they are using HD, as am I, and I've followed the same process. Perhaps there is a setting somewhere that determines what size/ratio the Master Templates are? I looked through all the User Prefs but could not find anything like that.

Please help!

He used the "Light" NTSC Lower Third template. You're right, it isn't HD, BUT, I am pretty sure the footage used in the clip is HD and the template conformed to that ratio when he clicked the superimpose button.

This is a lower third template?

The template is 720x480. It isn't a 16:9 template. You can add DVCProHD footage to the drop zone, but that doesn't change the nature of the template.

You can't make a HD template out of a SD template without scaling all the elements.
