150 Steadicam footage - Friends demo to be on the Voice

Greetings all,

Been a while since I posted some 150 footage on this. A friend just asked me to help shoot a short demo to be considered for that TV show, the Voice. So I shot a little bit of an intro and then a couple of steadicam shots. All footage was shot with the 150 and I really like steadicam with the 150. So... so.. so much easier to deal with than my DSLR cameras. I've also started to use my varizoom on the rig to do some adjustments while flying and it's been a great addition.

Nothing too fancy but a little something. For my rig I have a modified Glidecam HD4000, a Sony 5" LCD, and the Steadicam Merlin arm and vest. The Arm and vest is such a blessing. I've shot with the 150 and this setup for 5 hours straight without taking off the rig and it's not that bad. Could never do that with just handholding.

Cheers and here it is:

It's also lower quality settings as she wanted NTSC DVDs for the submission.... cheers.

This was the steadicam merlin arm and vest. The sled is a modified glidecam HD4000 and I'm using a sony 5" LCD to view.

I'm going to cut together a steadicam reel within the next couple of months. I've been doing quite a lot of work with the unit.

Very nice work with steadicam. I know it was just a demo, but it would have been nicer to have more cuts from different angles than just been follow with steadicam.

Great post and good luck on your projects.

You are completely right and I totally agree, but this was a freebie for a friend and she didn't want to have me "disguise" here abilities with a bunch of cuts, and I also wanted to just keep it simple. I totally agree with you on this though and thanks for the compliments.

I actually totally do love the steadicam now. I find it to be more fun than work and that's I guess why I do freebies for people and don't mind doing long takes. It's been probably the best investment I've ever made....

Cheers and have a blessed week!
