1394 initial error

Hi,

first of all, i did a search ! All things i found had to do with transfering to external hdd or trying to use the firewire as a power supply.

My situation is the following.
Yesterday i did a shoot of an event and i had to transfer to my mbp 's harddrive mannually because i only have one P2 card. After the first transfer i wanted to remove the firewire cable, but it got stuck in the port of my cam. Ihad to use a bit of force to remove it, but i tried to be as gentle as possible.
A coiple of hours later i did a second transfer, no problems there. I did one half a day later to.
Now today, when i connect the cam to my mbp i get the '1394 initial error' on the viewfinder of my hvx.
I don't think i changed my settings whatsoever, so i don't know what 's wrong.
I am afraid that i damaged the port the other day, but i don't know how, because i was really carefull.

any ideas ? because i cannot transfer any clips anymore.

Did you turn off the power on your camera before pulling the plug out? I've heard that not doing so could cause problems.
 
I honestly don't remember. If i did... any idea how i can fix it ?

UPDATE : I don't know how or why, but the firewire connection is back in full force. Thanks anyway !
