??? 13 HOURS ??? short film (:30 second teaser)

Immediately thought of Saw.

Pretty nice teaser though. Good Job. Are you from Czech Republic?
 
The writer wrote this in 1999 and we shot it early last year. The writer and myself saw "Saw" for the first time after we cut the rough assembly and we looked at each other and went "%$^#&#!" Oh well....ours was like that first! Saw stole our look! We must get them! DVXers unite! Yes I'm from Czech...defected when I was younger.

What did you use for compression to put it on the web?
I'm asking cause I'm not too happy with the way the stuff with sorensen 3 turns out.
 
I used Sorenson Squeeze 4 with the quicktime large progressive preset. 30 seconds came out at 9.2mb.
 
What's with that little bar at the top that says <CUT>, <GAP>, <TRANSITION> ...? :huh:

It's okay to be inspired by SAW. You don't have to say "This was written in 1999...." It's not stealing; it's appropriation man; it's cool esse.

I loved it.
 
Ya it does look well done and I wanna see it but I mean come on the clock, the camera, the windowless room, and two people in it.

Not to mention the chains...
 
CrazyCzech here. I edited the film and trailer. Raquel Delagana wrote and directed this film last year. What kills me is my friend Oren Koules produced SAW and my hockey buddy Mike Butters was the big naked guy stuck in the razor wire/chain death-trap. I edited the film before seeing SAW and am still shaking my hair at the conincidental similarities. I'm thinking of going back with a nice soft pastel glow and adding rainbows and bunnies to go the other way. Oh well. All I can say is If I were to copy SAW I would have either a) done a better job or b) not posted it here among such alert and knowledgable people. I'm posting a clip from a short I did about a cat burglar tomorrow to dispel any ideas I'm a SAW-stealer! Shame on you finger pointers! For every finger you point, there are four pointing back. OK too tired, need sleepy. Dobro noc from Czechland.
 
<gap, cut, transition>- I think may be PUTFILE's guess at what's happening in the movie clip. I guess it's supposed to be cool or something.
 
I feel you man. My junior year in high school I wrote a fifteen page short and was about to shoot it on a brand new GL-1 when Vanilla Sky came out. The wierd thing was, it practically had the exact same characters, settings, and get this, I also had written for the last shot. CU of eye opening up.
I freaked out and went straight to the internet to see when it was written. I was thinken bugs, tapping into my computer, conspericy stuff. Turns out it was based off another film Open Your Eyes in 1997. A full year before I wrote it. It baffles the mind. Anyway, thats the end of my rant.
Oh and your trailer looks really sharp. Tightly edited and paced to the music. WOuld have liked however something at the end that would interupt the shots of the room. Like one quick glimpse of some thing that makes us go "What the @#%$?"
