12k Footage and references in one location

Great blog post John.

What was the makeup like for the models?

Was there no filtration on the lens?

So awesome. 3 of those RAW CLIPS seem to have a look baked into them. Any way to reset that to the way it was shot? Just curious to see what they looked like in their log state.

Hey, in the BMD RAW tab, the GAMMA should say "custom", switch that to Extended Video or Film to get it back to standard Gamma settings. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I did that. The clips look much flatter now, still more contrasty than what I am used to seeing. Maybe those dramatic shots just have more dynamic lighting. Not sure.

Regardless of camera price, they are pretty lovely looking pictures. For $10,000 pretty amazing. Just Waiting to be able to play with the clips in Resolve on PC!

It was shot fairly intentionally 'dramatic' as you say. If you set gamma to 'Film' as Kholi suggests, it will be using the same log curve as John's shots (assuming Gen 5 for both). The look was added into the metadata really just to show that you can keep your "intent" in the file (good for not having people fall in love with the 'log' image while editing) but also be able to go back to log (or even linear) for grading etc.

Hi John,

I am curious what lens you used on the 12K sample shot of the woman w/ the white/pink dress on a lounger?
I’m noticing some chromatic aberration on that clip.
