12FPS Sync Issue

Hi guys...

I recorded 12FPS on the HVX and audio was recorded separately at 23.9 (whatever it is)... There is slate in the shot... but when i join video and audio, it never syncs up no matter what I do. I have tried applying a slo mo effect to the video to double its length... also did the match and slo moed it by about 40%...still out of sync. Ant ideas?
 
This is interesting Barry. I have a shoot coming up were I plan to shoot 48fps and speed up the frame rate by 200% in post. will this be exactly 23.98 and sync up with my audio I'll be recording separately or will I have a similar type of issue.
 
That's a great post Barry. I definatly will refer to this in the future, but I realize I didn't quite make myself clear enough. It's not a music video. I'll be recording live sound and plan to record some over cranked speed like 48 or 47 (SD hack) and speed it up. I guess I can figure it out if I knew what the SD hack numbers are exactly. With the SD hack, 13 is 23.98, what are the rest of the numbers exactly? or how do I figure it out?
 
Thanks Barry. I see the chart now in your book. I'll see if I can figure out some kind of formula to figure out the rest of the SD hack numbers.
 
There is no formula for exact framerates... the hack sometimes means slightly faster framerates and sometimes slightly slower.
