12fps /12fps playback on F3

In S&Q, I am trying to play back 12fps over 12fps, . Is the only way to play undercranked 24fps ? (which results in a fast motion clip)

For lack of a better term, I am trying to play back and record 12fps/12fps to retain the "smear".

Will I have to do this in post? How?

Thanks for any insight

To do it the way you're speaking of, you'd have to do it in post.

However, I do believe you can achieve almost the same visual effect by turning on frame accumulation in the Camera menu, and setting it to 2 frames. You'd then leave the S&Q knob alone.

The only downside I can think of to this method is the shutter speed would essentially be 1/12th second, instead of the 1/24th it would be if you shot 12fps and slowed it down to playback 12 in post. The frame accumulation trick would smear more, since the shutter is always 360 when it's on.

Thanks Nate. Your suggestion will work for me. I will also play around with the 12/24 footage in post .

...but then you are recording more frames so less space on your card. I haven't found any way to play alterted recorded speed in the F3 but later in post its easy to drop into for example a 24fps timeline and simply adjust the speed. Or you can just create a 12fps timeline too if you like.
