128GB p2 card

Just curious....So whatever happened to the 128GB p2 card? why hasn't it been manufactured yet? it's 2011...wasn't it supposed to be available in 2008(according to the p2 roadmap)? Has p2 topped out at 64GB?
 
Doesn't really seem like anyone cares, 64 seems big enough. I mean, you're the first person who's even asked about it on the forum in three years... :thumbsup:
 
yeah...did a search...last discussion was in 2008...lol! was just curious...lotsa discounts on panny gear. can't wait til NAB in a few months to see what else Panasonic has in the near future!
 
I think when we all started to use P2 with 4GB cards we thought that huge (capacity) P2 cards were really important. True, for event recording bigger cards are better. However, bigger cards mean bigger risk. The bigger the card, the more you record in a single session, the more you have to loose if the card fails.

For the last 4 years I have got by with just 4 16GB cards. There have been times when I could have done with a little bit more space but I don't think I would go for anything over 32GB per card.
