120fps "smooth slow motion" mode test

Shot around with some friends playing dodgeball, tested out the 120fps/1080i60 mode.

Put shots in a 720p timeline to try and preserve some quality but as you can see in full screen that the images resolution is unusable for online content. This mode could work well if used in a SD timeline for dvd, but while you save the quality of these shots you degrade your other shots, kind of pointless.

Its actually 200 fps embedded into fields. You can further slow down the footage by 50%
Resolution is low, compression is crazy, there's a lot of moire and aliasing...but for fast moving stuff it looks SPECTACULAR!
Sony MUST improve this mode in feature firmware updates..cause even GoPro now has 120fps in 848×480...

I think it's actually 120 (US version of the camera). Try filming a stopwatch, and count the frames.

its definitely 120... its a 3 second clip expanded to 12 seconds and played at 1080i60 aka 30fps. if it was 60fps then it would be a 6 second clip, double that, 12 second clip.

The fs100 120fps mode is almost better than the gopro since its 1080i 480p is pretty much pointless.
