12 volt adapter for the GH1

The AC adapter says it outputs 9.3V DC at 1.2 amps to the GH1. I have two questions:
Can I expect the camera to explode if I send it 12 volts from my battery belt?
Does anyone know of a cigarette lighter type or four pin 12 volt adapter for the GH1?
Alright, three questions:
How about a simple circuit diagram to knock down the voltage?

Thanks:dankk2:

why not just buy a power inverter (?). I think thats what its called. you just plug in to the cig lighter or hook up to a 12v source and it has power outlets on it. simple.

Perhaps I am not being clear. I am hoping to use my NRG battery belt to power my GH1 for a week long whitewater wilderness excursion. An inverter would not suit the situation.

You need one of these: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/655687-REG/Switronix_XP_DSLR_P.html

Although it is ridiculous price wise. $139.95 for a stinking cable. If someone knows a better solution I would be interested too.

The Switronix device appears to be more than "just" a cable: It's a DC-to-DC power supply (coverts nominal 12VDC to 7.9VDC), plus some power safety protection, and includes the DC connectors required by a Power Tap source and a GH1.

If this product works properly -- if it safely & reliably powers a GH1 from a 12VDC power tap -- for $140, it's probably worth it. YMMV.
