GH4 12-35 with variable ND?

Until they start building ND filters into DSLR camera bodies I'm going to continue to use my Variable-ND filters. The convenience and quality work well for my needs.

variable ND alternatives?

I just bought the Sigma 18-35 and need to add a new ND filter for it, so I'm re-hashing this (relatively) old thread. I was about to buy the Tiffen 72mm variable ND, but after some sniffing around I noticed a review comparing it to the SLR Magic variable ND (https://vimeo.com/125507165). By comparison the Tiffen has a very strong "haze" to it. I also saw some info on the Syrp variable ND. Has anyone used either of these?

BTW, I understand the issues others have mentioned with variable ND filters, but I am often on shoots that don't allow time for single ND filters. In most situations I can avoid the issues of variable ND filters, and feel the compromise is better than missing a shot.

You will find the fewest issues with the SLR Magic - it's the best option on the market today.
