10K Setup?

I am considering taking the jump into HD and getting an HVX... However I was interested in seeing what are some possibilities with starting out with a 6k to 10k budget and so on...

I know the absolute necessities are going to include, but aren't limited to: 1.)HVX200, 2.) Some good sticks matched with a decent head (Miller or Cartoni maybe...), 3.) new Laptop (MAC is my way) 4.) some filters (UV, Pro mist etc.) 5.) hopefully a stretch into a 35 mm adapter

I already have some lights and audio setup... any comments, suggestions or recommendations are gladly welcomed...

p.s. my uses of the cam will vary from well planned music videos to occasional run-and-gun event shooting so i will also be doubling back to SD every so often

sounds cool... any other suggestions? I am very open to see what kinds of things ppl can come up with... I want to see if there's anything I might miss out (like the indifocus which Zak mentioned), btw, hasanyone got any experience working with the HVX and the Indifocus?
 
Hi Griffin, I can tell you from first hand experience if you are thinking of the 35mm adapter route make sure you have a good tripod and good head.

hmmm... I've had a bit of concern checking heads and tripods. I like the Cartoni focus because it is a true fluid head that seems to match up with what I feel I'd need paired up possibly with some Miller Legs. I was just curious if there were any comparble true fluid heads for less than the same price range? that set will run approx $1,500USD, but I am trying cut that down abit becuase that's a bit rich for my blood at this time...

Any cheaper solutions w/ true fluid head and good weight support for 35mm adapter systems for less than $600?$1000?
