Just got this info from Sony Pro

Starting March 1, 2012, current F3 owners who did not purchase CBK-RGB01 10bit S-Log upgrade package, have the opportunity to do so at the new price of $899.00, with 32GB SxS card included, through qualified sales channels.

yea I just got this email from sony as well. Now standard at no additional cost. If I was an F3 owner and paid $3K for S-log, I...would...be....PISSED

you can't record to sxs 10bit, only 8bit. for 10bit you need off board recorder.

that ad is a bit misleading. its the 10-bit SLOG upgrade now "included" or "built in" to the standard F3 when you buy it, but 10-bit internal recording is definitely not possible. with the level of dynamic range these camera yields bit depth is less relevant. people are still insistent on 10-bit bit but haven't shown much proof of the benefits, mostly statements like "oh my colorist swears by 10-bit footage" same as all old timers swore by film only.. 8 bit is really good, don't kid yourself, go look in footage section and see what 8-bit can do..

Isn't this old news?

And the 10-bit thing, that's just marketing speak right? Because the (old) CBK-RGB01 was 10-bit S-Log....

I'm guessing they're pushing the 10-bit thing to jab at Canon and the C300, which is only an 8bit camera...

The internal recording remains 8bit 420, correct?
