1080p while recording with monitor

But everyone goes on about that when you use the hdmi output Its only 1080 50i, so if thats correct it means using à extarnal monitor forces you to Go 1080 50i or iam i wrong?

The connected HDMI outputs to 1080 50i, but its still recording to the card in 24p. 3 processors on camera means it can do this kind of thing without staling.

It's actually a progressive stream with 3:2 pulldown added. I believe most monitors are able to interpolate that stream to show a progressive image. Or...I could be wrong. :)
