1080p vs. 720p

[Glenn_Gipson]

I heard that there isn't much difference in detail on the HVX between the 1080p mode and the 720p mode. Is this true? Thanks.

I heard that 720p has better detail.

You'll have to use the search feature and find out You'll get an answer much quicker.

720 does not have more detail - 1080 has more but only about 15% due to the resolving power of the lens and the ccds.

Did that already, didn't really get a conclusive answer.

I've tested the difference. It is noticeably more detailed in 1080, and the compression artifacts or noise appears less blocky, or chunky. Downside is you loose the variable framerates and there is no 24pn, so you use the full 100mbps on your P2 cards.
