1080p Rendering to 1440x1080 question!

Hi,

I'm using an HVX200 and recording to 1080 24pa. When I render the footage to wmv using one of the templates (vegas 8 pro) with the 1080 hd 24p it makes files output to 1440x1080. I think it may be normal to do that and then resize up to a full 1080. But, what I don't understand is aren't we losing 480 lines of resolution here? When I see the quicktime (H264) files from the apple trailers and check their file info it says they're 1920x1080.

If I customize the video size to stay as original (1920x1080) and try to view it on a 24 inch 1920x1200 monitor the window stays small and won't go full screen.

So, what gives?

What "window" are you watching?

I set wmv player to play at 100% which is small on the 24 inch. Then I select full screen and it doesn't go anywhere.

In Vegas:

If I select from the template: 6.4 Mbps HD 1080-24p Video that's what happens.

If I choose to stretch video to fill output frame size then it's bigger but it stretches out horizontally and it looks incorrect.

Should I be setting a certain widescreen under the project properties somewhere. I use the given project template with the same specifics as mentioned.

It looks like it has to do with the pixel aspect ratio in the render settings. If you use the 1080 HD 24p one it makes it 1.333 which prevents it from a full resolution viewing.
