I like, though the actor looks too young, and one suggestion on the CC would be to desaturate it a bit and add more green... I love the green hills of grass, nice!

Well, don't worry, it's not really a war movie, even though the opening scenes look like that. It's more like an action/comedy short, no one gets shot in the movie. :)

Glad you guys like it. :)

Ah nice! All right dude, I look forward to seeing more :)

Miniman, i've always been a fan of the stuff you've put up - looks great as usual. Thats a GREAT location you've got! Not sure i agree with the suggestion to add more green though, I would reduce the green, but thats just me. Can't wait to see it when its done!

its deffinetly green enough...i would maybe kill it a little. seems people have a tendency to go overboard on coloring their films...especially with the dvx. subtle is usually best.

Pretty cool dude; sans the 4 year old soldier

Has a Malick vibe (Even if a bit out of focus)

Yeah, what Hudson said. I really like the look of this. You rock, MiniMan!

Here's another grab from the beginning. Exposing this was really difficult, but nothing beats this location!

edit: the reason it all looks a bit unfocused is because I had to use the rain cover, and it was SO bright I couldn't use the LCD, and turning the focus ring was also difficult because I could not let any sand it. It's like Sahara over there.

Submit to temptation and use autofocus :P Thats what i use..heh...Not sure what the argument against it is actually - its on spot 90% of the time, and only goes off when you get alot of serious movement. I'm not confident enough about my focus to go full manual, except for some shots where the af is fuzzy

I find that b/c of the extensive DOF of the DVX, as long as you are full wide on the lens and past f/2.8 chances are that everything is in focus.

i like the grab. nice color correction which gives it that certain "saving private ryan and all other band of brother modern day package bundle deal war feeling" to it. even though it may not be a war flick. i think anyone viewing that grab would assume it is. which means you have done well on the look and feel :) the second grab im not feeling so much, but its hard to seperate assumptions about whats behind images when you dont know what comes in between.

First shot is great. As for the second shot, a reflector would have helped tons with the exposure. :) Just get a cardboard box and wrap that thing up with tin foil. Insta-reflector.

I can't make a judgment on your coloring because I have no idea of intent, but it looks a little soft (although it could be contrasting movement, shutter speed, etc. Are you looking for subtlety or something more stylized?
