1080P MJPEG 422 Settings Vs. AVCHD "C" Settings

I have never tried the MJPEG settings but it is starting to look like the MJPEG 422 settings are starting to take a notice.
Whats your choice? WHich is better and why?

Well, the lpowell´s MJPEG 4:2:2 stable settings settings are totally amazing! ..
1280x720 picture is sharp, detailed .. just amazing ..

But.. You can take it like this .. =>

You will have the "C" settings for AVCHD for normal filming .. With "C" settings you can almost get rid of the mud .. And the quality is really nice!

So you can film with AVCHD ..

For the MJPEG you can set the 100mbits settings (I guess without 4:2:2) for the most, most amazing quality and shoot only very specific scenes with MJPEG ..

or just use the lpowell ´s 4:2:2 settings... The MJPEG file are really big so here is better to use AVCHD ..

There are pros and cons with both AVCHD and MJPEG ...

I´m using 720 MJPEG only for green screen work because of the 4:2:2 .. but I´m still mostly with AVCHD format. ..

You can also try modulr´s settings for MJPEG ... => bit-rate near 70Mbits - very stable also with 4:2:2 .. (At this point you can say that the quality will be better then AVCHD)

Q1=400, T1 = 4
Q2=300, T2 = 4
Q3=250, T3 = 4
Q4=188, T3 = 4

.. but yeah .. 4:2:2 is good if you do green screen work ..

I´m using these settings and I´m happy with it ..

Code:
30min limit removal=Checked
PAL<->NTSC Menu=Checked
720p30 420->422 color sampling=Checked
E1 Quality=150
E1 Table=86
E2 Quality=130
E2 Table=56
E3 Quality=115
E3 Table=26
E4 Quality=100
E4 Table=4
Video Bitrate FHD/SH=41000000
Video Bitrate H=23000000
Video Bitrate L=17000000
Overall Bitrate=43000000
Preset bitrate=180
Preset bitrate 2=180
... nice combination of lpowell´s MJPEG and AVCHD settings :thumbsup: :grin:

I use mjpeg more as its easier to edit with on my crappy computer lol
But I have started using FHD avchd recently which of course takes less file space but has a less dynamic look compared to 70+mjpeg
4.2.2 isnt right somehow...I get better results from green screen work without it.

Im assuming for the MJPEG settings you will have to have the Sandisk class 10 or panny gold class 10.

Yep the below settings
You can't playback the videos in camera, right?
... And these settings are stabe for recording? No write errors?

JoeJITSU: Yep. For high bit-rates like this you need SanDisk Extreme III card or Panny ...

No playback in cam (Im not bothered by it)
Very stable for me...zero write errors using sandisk extreme III
Eats up space so as a rule I only use it for the best image quality for short vids.
Generally use AVCHD for day to day stuff.
