1080p gained by 12db

I'm shooting something with HVX200 in a few weeks and one of the shots requires the camera to be gained by 12db (think some of the shots in "Collateral" that were gained so much to "see" the sky). Since i don't own the camera i did a test with DVX100 and it is what it is... Still i was wondering if one of you good folks could shoot a short clip 1080p gained to 12db and post it. Much thanks!

I have two pieces of advice... first, use a digital grain filter like the one that ships with AfterEffects. Second, try to fake things with as slow a shutter and frame rate as possible.
I was shooting a sequence indoors in a barn with only available light, shot stuff all day and only needed about 10 minutes to get the last of our odds and ends but didn't have enough light. I asked the actors to move at half speed and shot at 12 fps, it gave me an extra stop and the footage matched. I wouldn't try it with dialog, but works fine for simple walking and standing.

Yeah, the gain on the HVX is pretty manageable, I've found. So when you have to use it, you can usually still get pretty decent images out of it.

I shot these at a rock club in NYC with 1/60 shutter, 720pn, and 6db of gain. You can see that there is some added grain there, but it's not terrible.

er...ignore the blow-up doll...

-1 stop compared to DVX progressive, -2 stops compared to DVX interlaced.
Movement shouldn't be an issue since DVCPro is not a temporal codec.
