1080i with 720pN

Would mixing these two resolutions be obvious in the final cut?

I want to use the higher resolution (1080) but also have a lot of scenes that I want to use in-camera variable framerates. I'm planning on just uprezzing the 720 clips and using a 1080 timeline.

Any words of caution or reservations for me?

Thanks.

not really jut drag and drop. Especally in an NLE like Vegas. it will make all the converinsions for you.

From memory, the 720 upsized will have approximately 15% in quality reduction. Unless you're going film out I don't think it would be a big concern.

If you're using Final Cut Suit, I'd convert with Compressor first, it'll do a better job than letting the Timeline do it.

Convert DVCPRO-HD 720p24pN footage using the DVCPRO-HD 1080i60 codec? Because I shot the video in 1080i 24PA...wouldn't this be a framerate matching problem?

I can export the clips using Batch Export -- exporting them as Quicktime Movies (FCP Quicktime) using the 1080p24 codec.
It doesn't look like I can do that using Compressor.

Or can I?

I don't see a 1080p24 option in Compressor.
