Which is better?

At the moment I own a high def 1080i

I want a camera that shoots 24p. To me the quality looks better than a 1080i or 720p.
Is that true or am I just seeing things?

Any help?

haha. two completely different things. 1080p has to do with resolution. 24p refers to frames per second.

lol okay well I'm not the best with frames and all. All I know is that I've been checking out quality of cameras and there are some that is not my fps and looks better. Like someone let me borrow his camera and it shot 24fps and it looked better quality than the one I own.

google 24p and read up about it. in short though, 24p is what you want if you're trying to get a filmlike image. 60i is going to look video

Okay, and I guess the main thing i'm asking is, is a camera that shoots 24p going to look like what you see at the movies; not so much TV like.

go to the dvx or hvx footage section and you can see what 24p footage looks like.

24p gives the cadence of film. A cine-gamma curve mimics more of the color distribution we are used to seeing in film though it is just an approximation. The remaining portion is the depth of field. This is why people on this board spend so much time discussing 35mm DOF adaptors.

Personally, I think getting the folding chairs out of your background and using a decent mic would improve your product much more than a new camera.

Well, if it isnt him, you're lucky to get a Como lookalike.

You guys should get together and discuss filmmaking. Como's pretty cool.
