1080i 30fps video

What process will create the cleanest 1920 x 1080i 30fps from a GH1?

I have a GH1 and been asked if I can supply a clip in 1920 x 1080i 30fps. The hack doesn't have a native 30fps option for AVCHD files so that won't work. MJGEG looks like it is close but not quite ready yet for 1920 x 1080. It looks like I'll either need to converting the AVCHD 24fps to 30fps or use MJPEG and upscale it a little.

Are you sure they want 1080i and not 1080p @ 30fsp?

GH1 doesn't do 1080i. The maximum it does is 1080/24p. You can trick it into doing an internally uprezzed-scaled 1080/30p.

If you want to deliver in 1080/60i, about the only way you can do that is shoot in 720/60p and then convert to 1080/60i in post.

Turns out they can use either interlaced or progressive.
