108050i export problems

Hi guys, just like to know if anyone had problems exporting 1080 footage using fcp 18050i dvcpro hd codec? After exporting i find that the footage is a lot grainer and it loses its blacks and colors. The footage is fine in fcp and when i burn a sd dvd for playback for regular tv. Thanks.

I've had no real issues... altrhough I prefer ProCoder to FCP Compressor... your not asking your DVD burner software to re-compress the material are you...

I am exporting it through the dvcprohd108050i codec in fcp. I also just tried viewing it using realplayer for mac on a 23 inch apple monitor and it looks good. The colors and grain problems only happen when i view it through quicktime player. any idea? is it my settings for quicktime player?

Ok, you can export as a QuickTime self contained movie. You can export as several options. There's not default FCP export. The codecs are QuickTime, not FCP codecs.

So, are you exporting as a QuickTime self contained movie? That re-compresses everything all over again. Are you exporting your Sequence, or one of your clips?

Also, the Mac you play back on matters, as older, slower Macs will play high bit rate clips more poorly than newer, faster Macs.

I've never had any problems with non-self contained QT .mov files using the DVCPRO-HD 1080 compressor. i, p, 60, 24, it's all good.

What Mac are you on, and what graphics card does it have?
