1080 into Final Cut Pro - Please Help

After many people here have been telling me that shooting in 1080 is almost always the best choice except for times I want to shoot for slow motion in post and when there is a lot of motion, I really want to test 1080 on my new GH1. (I have done two tests now and both 720/60p)

I am using Final Cut Pro. I do not know how to get 1080 into Final Cut Pro.

Would any FCP users please explain how I use the Log and Transfer in FCP to bring in 1080 footage from the GH1? And can it be done simply using the Log and Transfer function or is additional software needed for 1080?

Thanks!

Basically Larry you will bring it in using log and transfer, than take those raw files and run them through either toast or a program like JES Deinterlacer that will remove the pulldown for you... theres a great sticky in the Workflow section of the GH1 forum that will walk you right through it!

Compressor can also remove the pulldown. It has a reverse-telecine deinterlace mode.

Pretty sure Toast does not remove pulldown. I'd be a happy camper if it could.
