1080 60i framerate?

I shot some 1080 60i footage. Which the camera says is a frame rate of 59.94. I imported into FCP and the imported footage says it is 29.97. This using the easy setup for 108060i.

Now my problem. The footage looks great playing back in the camera and looks good in fcp till I do a pan.Then the footage looks like a put a strobe effect on it.

So what am I a missing? I tried just changing the frame rate in the sequence. That made it worse.(from29.97 to 59.94)

I guess my long winded question is 1080 60i footage being brought into FCP 29.97 or should it be 59.94 and if so what do I need to do to make this happen.

You need to use Compressor and change the frame rate from 59.97 to 24 or 29.97. That program is very valuable in the world of the HVX

I don't use FCP, but can't you just "Interpret Footage" as 59.94? Thats what I would do in Premiere or any other program if it read the frame rate incorrectly.
