1080/24pA to 480/60i/4:3 miniDV

I'm shooting a school project for a friend next week. I'm shooting in 1080/24pA for best resolution, and he wants to edit with and have his final project 1080/24p/16:9. But he has to turn in a miniDV tape to be presented on a 4:3 SD TV. In FCP, how would we go about getting that edited 1080/24p/16:9 final QuickTime into 480/60i/4:3 letterboxed?
 
remove advance pulldown, edit it at full resolution. then create another sequence with your mini dv settings, drop ur sequence in that, FCP will ask if you want to change the timeline settings to conform to your clip settings. click NO, render, export via tape, qt file, whatever. if ur doing a qt file click letterbox to maintain aspect ratio. you may have to run a few encoding tests to get it just right, but the rest should be fine.
 
Ok thanks! So when I drop the 24p footage into the 29.97 sequence, FCP will automatically to the 2:3 pulldown?
