100B manual cover reads 100BP...it that ok?

I recieved my DVX100B last week. Havent had much time to fool around with it, but the initial impression when I pulled it outta the box was wow.. what a professional piece of equipment.

The only question I have is, the instruction manual is two sided - english on one, french on the other. The model number on the manual says AG-DVX100B and a small P half the B's height.

Whats the P signify? Not PAL I assume since the right side of the cover says MiniDV NTSC.

Just curious... my first DVX (purchased from J&R who are authorized dealers as well here in NY)

Thanks!

J&R's not an authorized dealer. Did you get the DVX Book/DVD and Magic Bullet 2.0 in the box? If so, you've got a US warranty too.

Hey Barry

I did get the DVX Book, DVD and Magic Bullet.. The box had a sticker on it that said "This box was opened to insert the DVX Book etc etc etc" And J&R emailed me a rebate form as well.

Also the box (a regular cardboard brown panasonic branded box) had an original shipping label on it from a Panasonic distributor in Virginia and the shipping date was like mid October. J&R of course boxed and cushioned this box inside a larger box for their shipping.

Thanks!

Excellent, so you do have a warranty. Looks like J&R bought it from an authorized Panasonic dealer and resold it to you. And you will be eligible for the warranty.

J&R seems like a very legit place; they just don't show up as authorized in the Panasonic dealer locator.

Yeah.. I would normally go to B&H especially since the prices were identical, but J&R offers 30 days money back for web orders vs. B&H's 7 days for video equipment. Since I'm just getting into pro event videography, I wanted to make sure I had enough time to evaluate the camera to make sure this was a good choice.
