100B AF Noisy?

In the thread called "Mechanical Humming Noise" there is a discussion about a noise generated -- at least on my new 100B -- by the AF.

Is this normal? Or do I have a problem? I am guessing the latter.

I am starting THIS thread because the original poster is not experiencing a noise from the AF, but something else.

I am the original poster of "Mechanical humming noise", I just now double checked to see if in fact there is no change and on my 100B with different settings. It does not change the "noise" wheather it's on AF, MF, Servo-Zoom or Manual-Zoom. It stays constant, it's just a faint spinning sound.

Just wanted to double check to make sure I was not mistaken.

My 100a makes the same noise in "AF when it is on. I feel it is just the on camera mic picking up the sound of the motor/servo. Use off camera mics and it won't be a problem or shock mounted shotgun mic.

I have a faint noise too ("whirring" more than "humming"). I posted my findings in the other thread (named "Mechanical Humming Noise").
