100a VS 100b

Hi,
I am so close to buying one of these wonderful piece's of equipment, but have a question. I am considering buying a used 100a from someone here on DVXuser, but I keep thinking that it may be better to go with a brand new 100b instead of a 100a. Being there are so many users here that have so much knowledge and experience with these cameras, I ask:

Is there a major difference between the 2, besides the 100b being new?

Thanks for your help....

And I'll toot my horn for the 100b again, for the same reason... UNDERSCAN LCD AND EVF.
3 days til I get mine...

Honestly I was looking into the Sony HDV FX1, coming from the VX2000 with many good looking films from that camera, I thought the FX1 would be good. Especially that we are getting a feature geared up to go. The 'look' has to be perfect and good to get decent distribution. So, I thought Sony & HDV was the future and was the way to go...

Until....

I came upon this site and saw the many projects shot by this camera. Going to B&H and experimenting on it etc....I think it produces a much better, more pleasing image. Actually a guy I edit for is dropping his 100a to me tonight to 'play with' for a couple of days.

I'm sold. Now to find the best price and away we go. :dankk2:

Unless you NEED the interval recording there is no reason to get the "A" the "B" is a little more solid, addressed some quirks but MOST of all, it has less noise and to me, it is very noticeable and a great improvement.

ash =o)

yes i too was thinking of the sony FX1 (as i have always been a sony guy even now i still have the good old vx9000 shoulder mount camera and it gives great
quality as do the FX1) But i always wanted that (LOOK whether it be film look
or what but i think it gives it to me with the panny 100b so i think i will be going that root.

good shooting
