100A/101A/105A SDI output question

I can't find straight answer. Some articles mention 10 bit SDI, Panasonic lists 8 bit, but in some other interviews they mention 10bit. Does anyone know the answer?

All SDI output is 10 bit. The question is whether all 10 bits are populated with useful data or not.

Nearly all cameras under $10,000 only fill out 8 bits of data. All Canons, most Panasonics, all JVCs, and most Sonys use 8 bits of data. The last 2 bits are not used.

On the AF100, it was that same way -- 8 bits of used data, two unused bits.

On the AF100A, all 10 bits are used. However, it appears to be not a "true" 10-bit signal, but an "enhanced" 8-bit. Somehow they're using processing techniques to turn 8 bits into 10. Sounds like it's some sort of dithering or uprezzing process. So it should be better than 8 bits, but not a true 10 bits.

Thank you for a quick reply.
Out of curiosity, have anyone compared the quality on external recorder with 100A model?
