There are 26 differences, some major, some minor. Majors include closer minimum focal distance, autofocus and gain available in progressive-scan modes, peaking in the VF/LCD, better feel to the zoom and focus rings, slower slow zoom speed, and fixed audio sync on tape, as well as volume controls on the headphone jack, three new gamma curves, a number of minor image control options (like coring and V_detail_level), and of course the addition of "squeeze" mode, for shooting in-camera 16:9.
