10 Years...

Brandon Rice

Distributed Producer
Well, I just noticed that today is my 10 year anniversary on DVXuser. This is kind of an exciting day... DVXuser has been my "film school" in so many ways. I've also made some life-long friends here and worked with so many of you. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for Jarred and those who helped him start this website. I don't know if I'd be where I was today without the influence of you all.

THANK YOU!

Here is to another 10 years!

Nice!

Yeah, I'm coming up on 7 years myself and I'm wondering where all the time went! But what a great experience it has been.
I too was one who actually started here with a DVX100 so it gives me a bit of a nostalgic feeling sometimes.

Yeah, this is a brilliant forum.

My 10 years with DVXUser is coming up in May. Came here when I bought my DVX100A, can't say that I feel any nostalgia for tapes and Standard Definition...

But in any case the site has provided years of information.

Holy crap, just looked at my join date as well...and that was probably after lurking for a little while too.

to celebrate, panasonic is releasing a new dvx to coincide with brandon's 10 year anniversary.

Congrats Brandon and all the other old school members.

10 years seems like a long time ago and I think the Internet was a different place then! Think I came here in nov 05 after buying a dvx100a.

I would love love to see a "where are they now?".....there were so many members that vanished into the ether. Pull up an old thread, you'll see what I mean. (Cough) how about another fest??

Regarding the lack of nostalgia for tapes & SD, I recently found a mini DV tape with footage of my infant son. The last shot on it was the unboxing of a t2i.

I am really grateful to all of the awesome members that DVXuser has had over the years. There have been great times, tough times, challenging times, and nothing ever stays the same... But, it has been a wild ride, and DVXuser has managed to last this long only because of awesome people like you all that we have been fortunate enough to have in our ranks over the years.

Not here as often as in former years, but still consider myself an active member :) learned a lot and developed my filmmaking skills , many through trial and error and sharing here. Great to see some of the old "residents", or "masters" are still around. Congratulations Brandon, and great to see how this forum really grew beyond the early dvx 100 days :)

Congratulations, Brandon!! A lot has changed since those days of you being a newbie and me having 6 months seniority over you. It's been amazing following you on your journey. ....and by "following" I don't mean stalking. All the best on your next 10 years.

DVXuser also had a huge impact on my own life. Taking me in directions I never could have gone on my own. This website has some of the most amazing and generous people I've ever met (some actually in person - lol). Thank you, DVXuser!!

Congrats Brandon! Seems like yesterday when I got my hands on my DVX100b & found this incredible forum. The support was/is just awesome. I don't know if I'll ever be a 'filmmaker' like most of you on here, but I have a hell of a time trying! Met some of the nicest folks you ever hope to meet in this business. 7 years and counting. Thank you DVXUser!
