1 Pixel Horizontal Line On Top & Bottom of Screen

Does anyone else have a 1 pixel tall horizontal line on the top and bottom of their lcd and in the viewfinder of their camera's screen when they record in letterbox mode? I am not sure if it does that on 4:3 or not. It is just a lighter color line for the border....I have never noticed it before, but I'm sure it has probably been there all the time.

Is it in the footage, or just on the LCD? If it's just on the LCD, you're likely using a DVX100A and have the EVF DTL function turned on. Try toggling EVF DTL and see if it goes away.

If it's in the recorded footage, then it's something else.

EVF DTL makes all contours on the LCD screen (electronically)more visible. This helps for evaluating focus on the LCD, because sharp contours is what we set for whem manually focussing. A letterbox image has a sharp transition (black bars to image content) and this transition is being amplified too.

So in other words, rest assured there's nothing wrong with your camera. Play with the focusing and switch EVF DTL on/off, and you'll soon see exactly what it's doing. Basically, as Andre said, it draws a white outline around elements that are in sharp focus -- when you see an element being artificially sharpened and white-outlined, you know that element is in sharp focus.
