1 day before purchasing

hello, i recently purchased panasonic dvx100 and i am about to buy a case for it. i know that lowepro makes great bags and was thinking about the Compact AW DV bag.

as i saw on your site you do not recommend it.
i went to a resailer and checked the compact and comercial too. it seems to me that the comercial dv is way to big for me.

i put the dvx100 in the compact dv bag and seems that i have to turn the viewfinder close to 90 degrees so it fits OR take off the frontplastic hood from the lens.
is that very risky thing to do?

i just like a lot the size of the compact bag and treust lowepro bags.

thank you

If you can't fit the DVX in the bag without removing the hood or tilting up the viewfinder--it's too small! You're much better off getting a bag that seems a little bit larger than you need because you'll be collecting accesories that will need to live somewhere. If a shoulder bag seems unwieldy, how about a small backpack? I use a LowePro Mini-Trekker and it fits the DVX nicely with plenty of room for other goodies.

Looking for carrying case also. Never seen one in person but I'm told the Petrol PCUB1 bag is a great size for the camera.
Supposedly plenty of room for accessories.

I tried the Kata CCC-102 and I personally thought it was too small. (Of course I was attempting to tote everything including my kitchen sink.) In my opinion, it's big enough if all you're carrying is the cam, and a couple accessories. Anything more than that, you may want to step up to a larger bag. Also, I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of padding in the CCC-102.

Re: 1 day before purchasing

i bought an aluminum hard case at lowes for $20. it worked out pretty well. its made my task force and its called an aluminum tool case.

Re: 1 day before purchasing

Lowes (the hardware store). Works great for lots of things (glidecams, lights, wireless units, accessories, etc). I even have my Sony VX2000's in them. They have worked great for over 3years and have lifetime warranty. All for ~$20.

HOWEVER...I do not use them with my DVX100A. It is much to narrow for the "Fat" DVX. Great for other things though.

it is a hardware store called lowes...im not sure if they are in you area, but lowes is all across ohio. you can find the case online as well, but it is much more expensive. do a search for:

Re: 1 day before purchasing

If it doesn't show up under Task Force. Look for GuardForce... I believe it's changed. BTW: The picture doesn't show foam, but it DOES include foam.
